Atlas, Butte, Camp, Nuns, Pocket, Tubbs, the number of PG&E fires is staggering. Since 2015, these infernos have destroyed nearly 20,000 homes and killed 130 people. Neighborhoods have been flattened, and businesses burned out. Experts predict that wildfire claims could be as high as $50 billion.
But if you don’t act now, your recovery could be zero.
If you were affected by the PG&E fires of 2015, 2017 or 2018, you have until 5 PM on December 31, 2019 to file a Proof of Claim. The form is simple. It takes ten minutes to fill out, yet many of those who had painful losses have not yet filed a claim. Some people assume . . .
PG&E is broke (it’s not).
The payments will be small (they won’t).
They won’t live long enough to see any money (you’ll get paid within about a year).
And the claims process is complicated (it takes ten minutes).
Many Tubbs Fire victims gave up after Cal Fire reported the fire started on private property. But new evidence now points the finger at PG&E. Tubbs fire victims should be, and will be, treated the same as all other fire victims.
